In January 1992, we were invited to a wedding. It was to be our first time out of the house since Nick was born. He was three months old. We were nervous to leave him with a sitter, but at the same time we were looking forward to an evening out together.
It was Wende’s good friend from the old neighborhood in Brooklyn who was getting married. The affair was in a temple about a half hour from the house. It was a nice wedding and it felt good for the two of us to be out again. We were dancing and eating and having a good old time, never knowing that this night would turn out to be one of the most outrageous nights of our lives. I don’t just mean bizarre, but downright unbelievable.
