“Donovan, please, we can’t go just yet.” She gently drew him toward her. “I want to do an experiment of sorts. I was wondering if . . .”
Before she could answer, Donovan possessed her lips. He was strong for a human. His firm passionate kiss left her quivering all over, wanting more. Heat spread throughout her every part. She rubbed against him. He moaned, pulling her closer, becoming her blanket and enveloping her with his delicious fire.
Instead of ending the kiss, he lingered with small nibbles at her mouth. Coaxing her lips apart with his tongue, demanding entrance, Donovan did the unspeakable. He stroked her fangs with his tongue.
Noble whimpered into his mouth and writhed beneath him. No man ever made her feel this way. She ran her fingers through his thick salt and pepper hair framing his handsome features. He closed his eyes when he kissed. She closed hers and found every sensation intensified.
Her body ached for him, only him. In short gasps, she whispered, “Donovan, I need you. I wanted you when we danced at Max and Evie’s wedding, and I want you now.”
Carefully he lifted himself up and off and lay by her side, stroking her cheek. “Ma chérie, I think we both know the results of this experiment, and we can’t let it go further.”
Noblesse opened her eyes. Frustration stung in uncomfortable places throughout her body. “Why not? We know how we feel about each other. That’s why when I’m upset I call to your mind. I know I’m safe in your arms. It’s more than a need. The bond between us runs deep. Don’t deny what you feel, Donovan. Our emotions are entangled, hot and wild.”

I'm totally in love with this series!
I recently rediscovered the works of Susan Hanniford Crowley through her book "The Vampire King of New York". This was my first romance by this author, having been more familiar with her work years ago in the fantasy and science fiction genre. I was so entranced by "Max" that I immediately went back to Amazon.com and bought all her available Kindle books. There was so much back story for each of the other main characters that I had missed and I hoped those stories would be good reads also. I was not disappointed.
I tore through them like wildfire while waiting for the release of "Vampire Princess of New York", her newest novel in the Arnhem Knights of New York series. I will say that though the shorter stories are enchanting, I am a great fan of the longer, full-length novels which this series embraces. More fun that way!
Throughout this series the reader gets not only to enjoy those lovely, anticipated nights of passionate love making, (of course, that's what romance stories are for, right?), but the stories are brilliantly orchestrated to include other facets of great story writing as well. The readers of an SHC novel always get more than their money's worth because she will always include the unexpected, even in a supernatural story you'll never guess what's coming until she brings you there. Only for a moment will she let her readers dwell in the comparative safety of the shadowy alleyways expected in a vampire story. Quick as a thought her stories move on, taking you and the characters in unexpected directions, often involving a variety of other supernaturals just for the fun of it. And though many of us were brought up to think of them as myths from childhood stories, SHC introduces them so naturally, you easily believe they are real. Her stories move quite nicely and while her characters are quite believable as they are, they are always learning more about themselves even as we follow along.
Spoiler Alert! (Just in case) - Now in this newest release, "Vampire Princess of New York", we follow the story of Max's daughter, Noblesse, who we first met in "Vampire King of New York". Don't worry if you haven't read the other books first. It isn't necessary. Each stands alone beautifully. If you do have a chance later to go back and catch up, it will greatly enhance your enjoyment of the series as a whole. For those of you who have read any of the earlier books in this series, I won't spoil your enjoyment by telling you the story line but I will say that many of your favorite characters from the other books appear often and they are like old friends you are so glad to see again.
This story is inventive, exciting, and of course, filled with passionate nights. It moves well and keeps you guessing where in the world you'll end up next. Sometimes the author lets you rest awhile in those lovely arms of a vampire who is at his or her leisure then quick as you please you're on the edge of your seat in suspense because, well, I won't tell you why or how but let's just say an SHC novel will never be ordinary and definitely a read worth putting time aside for.
Sizzling, Romantic, fast paced tale!
I have to admit I love a good Vampire romance and author Susan Hanniford Crowley has once again delivered a page turner of a story. Vampire Princess of New York is the latest in the Arnhem Knights series and to my thinking the best of Crowley’s vampire stories yet.
This tale features King Max’s daughter Noblesse as the strong, determined heiress to his dynasty who must journey though a complex, vivid and often dangerous supernatural world of Vampire clans to determine just whom her true life mate is and solve the mystery of what happened to her mother.
As with this author’s previous Arnhem knight tales I was drawn into her story from the first paragraph, not wanting to stop turning the pages until I reached the end. If you enjoy unexpected twists, wonderful and inventive story writing and character’s you won’t be able to help fall in love with, I recommend this read. It’s a don’t miss!

Susan Hanniford Crowley has brought us a wonderful story of modern day Vampires and the love they find and the families they create.Vampire Princess of New York (Arnhem Knights of New York) is a breathtaking tale, exquisitely written to carry you along on this amazing journey. Princess Noble finds love in one who feels undeserving, but in truth loves her more than life itself. I loved how this author combines history and the present to create such a colorful story. I would recommend this to anyone that likes Paranormal Romance, or Vampires in general. It is a wonderful collection of Vampires, Shifters and Elven Nobility, sharing and caring in a world more accepting of differences in each other. Well done
