A Good Ride
This is a graphic portrayal of life in the Old West. Mr. Yates writes well, giving the reader an insight as to what the characters are thinking. The bad guys are not nice - cruel in their quick action to dispense with their adversaries. There is a lot of shooting, but the description is not particularly gory, just a portrayal of how the bad guys -- and the hero as well -- don't waste time in attempting to keep control. Stuart Yates has a new fan, as I've now read five of his novels. He writes on a descriptive level of Louie L'amour, taking the reader on, at times, a wild ride. Yates is an easy read and one doesn't want the story to end.

"And then, it gets personal..." - that's what hooked me. This story really shows the true depth that a loving father will take to protect his daughter. His enemies stand no chance against his skills. It almost reminded me of a Western "Rambo" mixed with "Taken". Thoroughly enjoyable as a novel and as a Western novel. Completely entertaining and highly recommended for a read!
