The Thomas and Mace Double Duty Kalendar presents the humorous commentaries of Raymond Tomorowitz and James Masar. The book, which the pair began writing in 1966, contains some 100 short prosaic compositions, reflective of life views as seen from the juvenile minds of 14-year-olds through to views as seasoned as they may have become by the age of 56. While the commentaries are not particularly philosophic or deep, they are spun with a humorously philosophical undertone reflective of the ever-changing attitudes of two people as they progress from boyhood to older manhood. The compositions are humorous, often absurd and sometimes bizarre, with what some readers have termed a Lewis Carroll flavor. While the book is not an actual calendar, it does present a vague chronological aspect that might be detected by the astute reader. However, a chronological awareness is not necessary for the book's enjoyment.
