Seven horses with a secret gift of human speech bestowed on them by the mythical flying horse Pegasus all reside at the North Ranch where they share the setting with their human caretakers who have no knowledge of just how special their horses are. The daily lives of these horses with their chaotic adventures, bickering and schemes, offer the reader a look into equestrian personalities which mirror those of their human counterparts, yet with enchanted and dramatic results. Each chapter presents a different adventure the stablemates encounter through the passing of one year.

Late on the third night as the horses lay dying, a bright light in the shape of a glowing horse with wings appeared hovering above the barn's rear gate. The light slowly descended into the middle aisle, landing gently as the radiating glow faded, revealing a brilliant white horse with thick silky wings.

The Horse Secret
The horse secret is a very well written fantasy novel. I love the way the authors, Stevan Hoffman and Leslie Martin brought their characters to life. I could also feel their deep love for horses through the pages of this book.
I especially liked the part about Princess’ mother telling her about mares giving birth to foals for most of their lives and eventually being taken away and sold off. That’s just one of the many sentences that reveal the love that these authors have for horses. I got the feeling that they feel bad about horses’ offspring being taken away from them and being sold off. Even though that’s a reality for horses, I could feel the deep compassion that the authors feel for them having to watch their offspring leave them.
The entire story will hold your interest as you turn the pages and travel to another world with these amazing magical horses. It’s well worth the time it takes to read it. There’s nothing better to me than taking an emotional journey with a great book. Great book describes this one. If you love horses or animals in general then you will love this novel.
