Tegan drove so fast going home, that she didn’t have time to think about anything else except not getting a ticket. She knew a cop would have no idea what she had on under her shorts and tee shirt, but she didn’t want to chance anyone finding out what a wanton woman she really was. When she got home, she found Rosa watching TV in the living room, and the kids were all asleep upstairs. Since they frequently stayed over at each others’ houses, this wasn’t anything unusual. So she paid Rosa for the babysitting, and sent her home, watching from her front porch, until she saw Rosa enter her own front door.
She went upstairs to peek in on the kids, and found that the girls were indeed asleep, but the boys were still playing the computer games they loved. She told them to turn it off and get to sleep, and they complained, but since both of them were yawning while they argued, she figured they’d turn in soon, and she left them to go fill her bathtub with water.
She was soaking in a bubble bath, with a glass of wine in her hand, and candles lit all around the room, when her cell phone rang. Since she was expecting the call, she had it on a chair next to the tub.
“Hello Patti?”
“No, it’s me,” Alexander’s low voice made her feel like her bones were melting. “Have dinner with me tomorrow night?”
“No! I can’t get a sitter on such short notice!”
“The night after that?”
“NO!”
“When?”
“Never! I told you, it’s not going to happen again! Good-night Alex.” Then she hung up the phone.
Alexander smiled at the phone in his hand, saying, “Ah, but it IS going to happen again. The only thing you can negotiate with me for is where and when.”

Tegan is finally getting her life back on track after her divorce. She throws herself into a new career with her friend as party consultants. So her life now revolves around her new job and raising her two kids. When a new client asks for things that they normally do not deal with, Tegan does it herself never realizing what a Pandora’s box she was opening.
Alexander is a proud strong Hispanic man. His life is about business. He does not believe he is a marriage and kids kind of guy; at least he used to think that way because his first marriage was a disaster. But when he meets Tegan something inside him begins to change.
Both Tegan and Alex have issues like anyone else. Yet what starts as a fling for just mind-blowing sex slowly becomes more and leads to the question which one will run first; Tegan who is protecting her kids from embarrassment or Alex who would rather keep his bachelor life?
Fun and Flirty with lots of heat packed in. Never To Old For The Game of Love is an entertaining read. An all too true storyline; many people as they age give up on love and this story shows you can stick with it. Everyone can find love. This couple shares a great story although I did feel that Alex and Tegan were far from “being old” as they are in the same age grouping as I am. Smile.
