Many hours later they were on the dance floor, swaying to the sound of an eighties love song, filled with sexual longing, being sung live.
Adam had his arms around Ameena's waist, and she had her arms wrapped around his shoulders, her hands clasped together behind his neck. He lifted his head from inhaling the fragrance of her hair to incline his head towards the stage at the far end of the hall. "Is that really him?"
Ameena smiled. "Who do you think got him his start, helping him along to pop stardom? Of course it's him. He's repaying Eddie-G by singing karaoke at his party."
"Is it still karaoke if you were the original artist who recorded the song?"
They looked at each other and both smiled.
Ameena shrugged. "Who knows?"
They went back to swaying, each lost in their own thoughts.
Ameena took a deep breath and looked up and into Adam's eyes. They looked unfocused, as if his thoughts were far way. It's now or never. .I have to tell him about it. I hope he's not upset. Ameena lifted her head up and gently kissed him on the chin.
"There's something I have to tell you, Adam. I should have told you on the way, but I was waiting for a good time." She smiled nervously.
Adam shook his head to clear it, so he could concentrate on her words. "What?"
"You've seen all of the cameras all over the place, right?"
Adam nodded. "You said he had twenty-four-seven surveillance everywhere."
"Yes. But part of the reason he has cameras all over, is because he's a voyeur. He likes to watch his guests enjoying themselves."
Adam nodded again. "Not surprised at that. He's made his living filming other people."
Ameena took another deep breath. "I don't think you get the full implications here, Adam. He expects all of his guests to really give him something to watch. You know--to entertain him, even after you are gone. It's part of the gift that he requires from everyone. We all know what's expected."
Comprehension was beginning to dawn on his face.
Ameena continued talking quickly. "I got away without having to perform for him last year, because I came alone to the party. He offered me one of his boys. But when he wouldn't take no for an answer, I finally had to show him my scars. They were fresher and nastier-looking then. I explained them by saying that I had just recently ended a BDSM relationship that had gotten out of hand, and that I needed time to recover. I promised him I'd give him a show he'd never forget this year." She watched his eyes widen as he realized the full ramifications of her words.
"But it was supposed to be Tomás that came with you here. Wasn't it?"
Ameena shrugged, as she smiled seductively at him. "Remember I said there were a couple of reasons that I wanted it to be you?"
He nodded. "Because I was the one who was used to being awake all night."
She leaned in closer to him, to whisper into his ear. "The other reason was that I don't want him in my bed. I want you."

Ms McGier's books are the gold standard in genre-bending romance
The second book in Ms. McGier's "Female Secret Agents" series, "Undercover Lovers" is darker, more complicated, and more intense than "Secret Lover", while maintaining the glamour, sexiness, and fun of the series. The central element of this book is a love triangle between three spies: Ameena, who retired from the agency after she nearly died completing a deeply personal final mission, and the two men who desire her. Adam is a quiet, deep soul who works on the technical side of missions, with bad-boy good looks and a penchant for leather jackets and tight jeans. Tomas is a smooth, sexy, super-confident seduction expert, the same role Ameena filled when she worked at the agency. Ameena must choose, and then fight for, the man of her dreams in two back-to-back, equally intense spy stories that compliment one another and set the stage for some of Ms. McGier's hottest and most creative sex scenes so far. As with McGier's other books, this story is driven by the characters, which makes both the sex and the action more intense. And for readers of the first book - yes, Malcolm, the super cool Irish Black gay spy handler is back for the second round, doing his best to steal every scene he's in. To say that this book delivers both as a spy book and as a super-hot erotic romance would be a huge understatement - I absolutely love all of the characters, and I couldn't put the book down once I started!

Undercover Lovers is sexy but sweet, suspenseful but romantic and naughty but nice. This story had a lot of filling: love, passion, betrayal, action, suspense, spies and danger. There was a wonderful mix of emotions to keep your blood pumping from the first page to the last.
Ameena gave more then what was expected of her when she worked for the government as an agent. A year later she is still tormented by nightmares, only to discover her attacker has escaped custody and is now coming after her. She is done playing nice. She wants to get her life back and she will do so as playing bait. Working with her old handler and two gorgeous but different men, they set a trap. This time The Executioner will not escape.
Agents Tomás and Adam have been partners for years. After hearing that a fellow agent is in need of guarding, they jump at the chance to protect her. Tomás is the carefree playboy of the team while Adam is reserved and quiet. They have a perfect partnership until they meet Ameena. They are both instantly attracted to her and the both will do anything to get her.
Undercover Lovers is a hard book to categorize. While the story is about secret agents, it had minimal action and suspense. Ms. McGier does a superb job incorporating the exciting moments with loving touching scenes. You never lose sight of the passion between the destined lovers. There is an undercurrent of sexual tension between the three main characters, but this is truly a M/F romance. The sacrifice that Ameena makes for her man is heart wrenching and distressing, but in the world they live in, you can absolutely understand her reason for making the decision.
I was captivated by Undercover Lovers and I was engaged throughout the story. The characters were fun to read about and the love story was beautifully written. I enjoyed how the two lovers came together so amazingly. Their love was bright and brilliant and their future is forever. Ms. McGier drew me in and made me fall in love with them. She has a new fan and I plan to check out her other books.
Undercover Lovers can be read as a standalone novel, but it turns out this is the second book in an unnamed series. Secret Love is the first book and several of the characters from that book make an appearance. It sounds like they have an intriguing story. I could also see the possibility of the remaining man from this story getting his own book. While the ending definitely wrapped up the story very nicely, the door was just barely cracked for the possibility of his tale and my fingers are crossed that will be written.
Pick up a copy of Undercover Lovers! You won’t be disappointed. This is an enticing fun read that will keep you turning the pages well into the night.

Oh my goodness, this book had me from the very first chapter. The action started right out of the gate and continued throughout the entire book, chapter after chapter. I couldn’t put the book down. I was thrilled to see characters from book 1 brought into book 2.
It was a very touching feeling to continue seeing how their lives were moving forward. This book is exactly the kind of book I LOVE to read and get lost in, excellent sexual content, intrigue..kidnapping, rescues……
I am hoping to see another book in this series that will tell more of Tomás story. I am also curious to see just exactly what kind of man or woman it will take to bring him to his knees in love. He is the kind of rascal you can’t help but fall for and wish for him to find his own happy ever after.
