She turned away from him and it seemed almost accidental that her hip brushed against the front of his pants. But then she smiled over her shoulder at him and he suddenly realized that he was also the prey in this game, not just the predator. And he also realized that this woman was a force to be reckoned with, and the game instantly became a whole lot more fun.

For Rosa, knowing that she will be working closely with Greg has her having flashbacks as well, ones that leave her emotionally and physically confused. When presented with the chance at being with the love of your life a second time, can Greg and Rosa overcome past hurts to begin again or is already too late?

Love by Design is a heartfelt love story full of both past and present tension and passion, keeping the reader on edge. Ms. McGier tells the tale of second chances writing this novel with a poignant pen, using the characters' past relationship as a background to build on their current feelings and emotions. This novel is the third book in the Reyes Family Romance and has some returning characters, however can still be read as a standalone. I enjoyed the humor, sensitivity, passion, frustration, learning experiences, and heart-wrenching scenes depicted within the story and found myself especially enthralled with Monsieur Dormande as he seemed to be a little on the conniving side when it came to bringing Rosa and Gregor together for the first time. A great read whether you are a first time reader of the author, as I am, or a fan of the Reyes and their ever growing family.

Gregor Luchovich, a Russian immigrant, has made his mark in the business world after getting his bearing in America. Intelligent and ambitious, he has prospered materially, but has lots of mistakes to his credit to show for the past seven years since he suffered Rosa’s rejection because of a conflict he had with her uncle who is her godfather. When he realizes she is the designer to redecorate his mansion, he feels anticipation and trepidation. She is still the woman that touches his heart and soul.

Fiona McGier weaves a modern, exciting love story that lures the reader into the lives of mature adults that have learned from past mistakes but still must struggle with issues of two strong personalities finding their way to compromises that will nurture the love that lay dormant for seven long years but never demised. The emphasis on ethnic differences detracts at times since strong family ties and customs exist in many ethnic groups that have assimilated in America. However, the beautiful man/woman love and familial love mingle to make a strong statement about true love that gives and forgives.

LOVE BY DESIGN with its humor, description, and wide array of interesting characters sparkles with life. Satisfying reading!

Love By Design by Fiona McGier is an above average story of the loves and losses of a well-to-do Latin family. It is enchantingly warm and sexy, and full of promise. I was impressed by this author’s delightful voice in portraying the ins-and-outs of a large loving family who stick together to help one another through thick and thin. It’s a must read.

Rosa Reyes is one of Monsieur Domande’s top designers, and he unwittingly sends her out on assignment… to redesign the appointments for her ex-boy friend’s new mansion. She is determined to keep their renewed relationship professional, but her body has a mind of its own, remembering how good they had been together, seven years ago. Yet, she has a professional reputation to uphold, so she is determined to keep it strictly business.
Gregor Lubovich, an emigrant Russian, is surprised to find Rosa at his new mansion, redesigning its many rooms to comply with his every personal whim. Who better than his ex-girl friend; who could possibly know him better? He hasn’t forgotten his love for her, yet, this is business, and he forces himself to remember she is the professional designer that he has hired to do the job. He has only one problem… he has never fallen out of love with her. He worries about whether against all odds if after the job is finished can he win her back? He is determined he must keep his hands off her luscious body until the job is done… but then… look out!
This is a very enchanting read. I fully enjoyed it.
