The author has combined his published satirical writing skills with his technical mortgage banking knowledge to create a topical satire on an incompetent and corrupt bank. Mr. Oller has published numerous golf satire articles for regional and national golf magazines. He has also published technical real estate appraisal articles on eminent domain issues. The author was employed by a financial institution as a real estate appraiser. He was a Member of the Appraisal Institute and operated an appraisal company in the Midwest that serviced Savings and loans with residential and commercial real estate appraisals for most of his career. Mr. Oller now resides in Florida.

Rosie craned her neck and searched for Harold. She sighed with relief as she spotted him working his way back through the crowd with another man.
"I'm back," a happy Harold announced.
"Thank god, Harold. I was getting so worried. Let's go."
"Honey, shake hands with Jim."
"Hi, Jim."
"Jim here lost over half a million on his stock purchase."
"I'm really very sorry to hear that," Rosie said.
"But he's going to get back, plus," Harold bragged as the crowd became rowdier.
"HAROLD, WE HAVE TO GO!" Rosie shouted.
"Jim can guarantee us thirty-four percent return on your remaining $200,000!" Harold said.
"No, no, I can't guarantee thirty-four percent return, Harold. What it is, Rosie...May I call you Rosie?
Rosie stared at Jim and jumped at the sound of a stone bouncing off a plate-glass window.
"We have one more opening left on a 100-acre tract of land that adjoins the city of Juneau, Alaska. The engineers are going nuts with the probability of a real strike."
"A gold mine honey - can you believe - a gold mine!" Harold marveled.
Jim continued. "Now if the engineers are right, thirty-four percent would be minimum."
Minimum, honey-did you hear that? Minimum. Tell her about the guarantee."
Rosie scowled at Jim.
"With a minimum of eighteen-percent we'd be in the clear," an excited Harold said. "What do say? You want to opt for gold?"
Jim and Harold looked at Rosie. Rosie continued to stare at Jim. She shouted over the crowd noise, "Honey, I am going to opt to kick this sleazy crook's ass up between his shoulder blades if he doesn't get on down the road now."
Harold's jaw dropped in disbelief....
