We dove toward the cave with renewed excitement. This time I was able to reach the cave with no problems. Lizzy surfaced inside the cave seconds behind me to witness the most spectacular sight we have ever seen outside of a Hollywood movie. There before us was an overflowing chest of treasure with a skeleton guarding the loot. Exasperated, we held on to the edge of the cave floor and went into a trance. Awe, is definitely not the word for what we feel at this time, but is there an English language word for what we were now seeing.

I didn't know what to expect reading a kid's book but I have to admit that 1/2 way through I couldn't put the book down. If I were blind and had someone reading this book to me I would have still been on the edge of my seat until the end. The author's descriptions were very clear and very good. I would love to see 6th, 7th and 8th graders reading this in their literature classes. Lots of learning lessons in this book too! Thumbs up!
