"Aching tears travelled down my face, paralleled to every scar, traced every pimple, and produced puddles in every pore. The chains around my heart began to tighten and twist, draining every ounce of its blood. I couldn’t help but think, 'What am I doing wrong'. It was the first time he had ever seen or heard me cry; however, to consider his thoughts and emotions didn’t deserve the effort. I was hurt, terribly, and I wanted him to know just how much damage he had done. For months, he led me to believe that he wanted me, only me. Then, he revealed that his decision reversal regarding us was due to his relationship with God and his education. After a night of sultry passion, hours before his departure and weeks before his return, he admitted the true reason for reneging on “us”—another woman. Excellent Debut Novel
I was immediately drawn into this book and identified right away with the main character. I think most will find a little of themselves in Leveled Mind, Confused Heart. The characters and situations in this book were very realistic and believable. It is a very easy read and very well written and edited extremely well for a first novel. I highly recommend Leveled Mind, Confused Heart and I personally look forward to reading future work from Angelique.
