Seasons & Elements is a poetic journey through the course of a failed marriage. When I divorced my husband, I was thrown into the dating world. With three kids, I quickly found that it wasn't all I thought it was cracked up to be.
Throughout the book, you'll see expressions such as love, hate, sadness, anger, happiness, and victory. You'll also see the evolution of me from the end of my old marriage to the start of my new one.
Join me on my poetic journey through love and all of the confusion, change, and restoration it can bring. By the time you reach the end, I'm sure you will have found that there are quite a few memories of your own that relate to mine. Most importantly, I'm sure you will have found peace with those memories.

When we divorced, I began to date a series of men who I know I had absolutely no business with. Oddly enough, these men were from my past, which should have been the first clue to not go that route. But I didn’t listen to my own cautions. I used these men to hurt my ex-husband intentionally and ultimately caused severe damage.

Yolanda Gaston displays poetic brilliance at its best in her book Seasons & Elements. Her poetic creativity has the ability to capture the reader’s attention and heart from the beginning. Her story of life and love is one that is told with honesty and will have an amazing impact on the person who simply takes the time to read it. She uniquely breaks down the phases of love in such a way that it truly feels as if you’re living inside her words. Her honesty regarding life, faith, love, emotions, imperfection, and just her journey itself is one that is not weighed down with complicated phrasing. She has graced us with simplicity that is filled with a tremendous amount of great meaning and inspiration. Although it is difficult to choose a favorite poem, I am going to say that her poem entitled, “I Am a Legacy” echoed throughout my soul. Yolanda Gaston’s strength and courage just shines brightly throughout this book, and as you read it—as you go through the seasons and elements, you will discover a certain strength within yourself.
