This book follows my initial visit to my doctor for a routine annual physical just days after my 42nd birthday, divorced more than ten years and still single-- diagnosed with breast cancer; advised that I would need a radical mastectomy, results of a second opinion, the surgery, my thoughts (days before, the day of and after the surgery), the awesome pain and questions regarding recovery and chemotherapy treatments, persons around me and living my life alone with my two children-13 and 19 ( other family members, medical professionals, City of Dallas, TX co-workers, and a sharp element of surprise by my ex-husband.).
