A longtime member of the renowned "Life Choir," directed by world wide international musical composer and conductor, H.B. Barnum, Ms. Smith has engaged in numerous recordings. Performed with Aretha Franklin at the Greek Theatre Sept. 04and Sept. 05.

I Have a Reason to Smile: A Book of Poetry is a collection of personal poems that explore, in the author's words 'stories of life': falling in and out of love, sexuality, spirituality and identity.
The poem "Everything Matters" contemplates the role of an individual's past in shaping present identity. The author asserts that every detail of her past influences her present:
Everything Matters
My family and who they are
Where I come from,
They are my memories...
I will cherish them
forever...
Depicting the author's desire to receive forgiviness and a second chance in a relationship that has gone wrong.
"Change In Me" communicates the enduring nature of true love:
