Love, violence and murder!

Denai is sweet; extremely naïve and some may say, desperate. Denai’s husband Brandon is the perfect mistake, but what she endures is her fault! She asks herself daily if suicide would be a better marriage, but her mom reminds her that a wife should stand by her man! Even if it means a few blackened eyes and busted lips. Denai is cursed by her desire for perfection, after starting a life misdirected. Then Jordon comes along, and offers Heaven over Hell. However, is he really what he seems? Truth is only revealed by blood stains.

Excerpt

It was the beginning of the first days of life for me, a change I’d been dreaming about for the past year. I was with a customer when one of the sexiest black brother’s I’d ever seen walked into my shop. Until that moment, I thought I was already married to the man of my dreams. He was tall, dark, handsome and very well dressed. When he walked in, my heart stopped and I lost sense of everything around me. There was no one else in the room but us. He was clean, had on a nice tan linen suit and some badass brown, leather numbers on. He stood about six feet tall, with a milk chocolate skin tone and built to all of be damned. “Can I help you?” I asked. He seemed to float to my chair like an angel. I found myself planning our future and naming our kids. He walked up to me and got straight to his point. Looking him up and down I could see his mouth moving but no words were coming out. The vowels were wedding bells and consonants the same. They went in one ear and out the other. I was to ultimately fascinate by his physique and those chocolate éclairs, he calls lips to realize his inquiry. It was something about him; something I feared was going to change my life and we don’t even know one another’s name. Ariyan’s response broke our trance, well my trance. “It’s about two blocks down, make a right at the light, and it will be on your left hand side.” He said thanks as he hesitantly broke his eye lock with mine. Then he turned around, walked out the door and I continued to do my client’s hair. Pretending the whole time that Niagara didn’t just fall in my panties! “You know, your fascination couldn’t be more obvious, especially to him.” Ariyan stated. “Hell, his couldn’t either.” Armand replied. Armand is one of the artists in our shop. We went to Cosmo School together. Armand has been here since the shop opened; he is like a big sister to all of us! “Girl what was wrong with you? Why didn’t you speak to the man? You just froze up and started drooling. You could have at least told him where Brandon worked.” Armand said. “What do you mean? And I wasn’t drooling.” I asked. “He asked you where Brandon James was, is the drooling all you’re worried about?” Ariyan continued, “You just stood there.”
“It’s like you two knew each other from a past life or a down low experience.” Jaycee added. He is another one of the artists’ in the shop. “I was thinking about Brandon. We’ve been going through a lot lately.” I tried to cool their suspicion.
