Fantastic read!
I saw this on my friends Kindle and I asked if I could read it. She was a fan of the series and suggested that even if I wasn’t familiar that I should start with this one because, according to her, it is Tarrant Smith’s ‘best work so far’. And I can happily say that I was far from being disappointed, in fact I went back and read the other books in her series right after reading this. However, I want to convey that each book can be stand-alone, so I will review this without mixing in the other books. (Although if you are a fan of the series she brings back many of the characters from her other books)

A little about the book, Ena, the protagonist, recently had a family member come into a royal position, but she and her father don’t exactly share in her family’s new success. However, the goddess of matchmaking visits her with a small proposition that changes her path.

There are two protagonists, one a male and one a female whom I already discussed. Ena has which will keep you guessing at her background until the end. Then there is Crank, who goes through a perilous journey and is rewarded with torment from a bitter burden. And Ena, the mercurial she-fey is the only one who can bring back him back to resemble his former self.

Overall, I loved this book. It was the realist fantasy that I love to read on rainy weekends. I would recommend this to anyone who has an affinity for a good story but especially to those who like to read the best sort of fantasy.

Fantastical Love story
Great balance of fantasy, real life and action. If to you fantasy books sometimes seem too heavy on the unbelievable, then this writer mixes a fusion of love, rivalry, the imaginary and emotion filled acts of commitment into a great combination. The tale moves with clarity as to who the characters are, their positions and their motives. The stinging temper of a young half-dragon who has family ties to the court of King Arthur as she seeks control of a powerful ancient plagued with a mental anxiety is a surplus of intrigue well written with plenty of excitement as they clash and bond.
The word shimmer is perfect to describe how the two main characters can don themselves in enviable outfits that allow a great way for the written descriptions to blossom into a Panoramic vision. In a strong undercurrent concealed in the plot, the reader is left to ponder on, ‘Could you commit to someone who has mental problems that are capable to sweep them away at times?’ And, ‘Do you commit to someone who’s beliefs are so strong that they are directed to murder, in this case two humans who are in the house of the one who loves you? Is love that strong?’
The most striking thing about the story is how the flow captures you into reading way past reading time. The detail of the plot is visionary as well as full of imagery. I would call this fantasy a love story without the syrup. I see an accomplished writer in the blend of lovemaking, violence, scheming, hatred, violence and forgiveness. Thumbs up to a really good book.

Resurrected Darkly is a work of paranormal romance fiction penned by author Tarrant Smith and the fifth novel in the Darkly Series. In this powerful tale of resurrection-like romance and feisty tempers, we return to the newly-crowned king of the Unseelie court, focusing on Hueil's niece, Ena. Ena has the heart of a dragon, so when the gods see fit to enter her life, she is wary but unafraid. She seeks to play out their game to keep peace with the matchmaker, but the disgraced warrior that Ena is led to brings her more than she could imagine. Crank, for his part, is in dire need of a new reason to live, and Ena might just be it.

Having read several works in the Darkly Series recently, I think I enjoyed Resurrected Darkly most of all because of the deep, dark nature of its hero, Crank. His emotional and psychological journey back to life really enhances the romantic plot of the novel, elevating its intimate scenes beyond the physical, and into the powerful capacity that such intimacy has to remind people of the gift of life itself. Author Tarrant Smith plays this romance out beautifully to convey those important messages and uplift readers in this redeeming and superbly atmospheric love story. Ena makes a great match for him, just as the gods suggested, encompassing empowerment as well as sensuality to portray a powerful female lead in charge of her own decisions. Overall, Resurrected Darkly comes very highly recommended for paranormal romance fans.
