For Rowan, Lars was the perfect dark lover Samhain night. No names, no ties, no way to find him again. She had set those rules. So why was she now regretting that decision?
LITERARY TITAN SILVER BOOK AWARD, February 2021
Orphaned at the age of six, Lars’s earliest memories are of the violent encounters between the demon who sired him and his demigod mother. His unique history, which he’d like to forget, is what allows Lars to live a charmed life within the supernatural communities collectively known as the Pale. With the goddess Rhiannon as his patron, he wants for nothing. But after encountering Rowan Morgan at a local Witches Ball, Lars must face disturbing truths about his banished past before his ignorance and cravings kill her.
Rowan is a solitary witch by nature and a kitchen witch by inclination. The life she has carved out for herself is a small one, but also deeply satisfying. Rowan loves nothing more than tending her herb garden, baking sweets for the local café, and spending time with her best friends. She is fiercely independent and has never truly felt as if she were someone's other half. Yet after a single night in the arms of a dark and mysterious lover, Rowan is forced to reconsider her past assumptions about the existence of soulmates. And if she and Lars are truly destined for one another, then how can such drastically different people learn to share a life together?

A Great Read!
I do love a good series and this one has already pulled me in. I would like to start by saying that the author is a fantastic storyteller. The imagery in the book and the language they use is breathtaking! I was blown away by the visions I got just from reading the words. It takes a lot for a book to do that to me, but this one did it and I loved it! Each and every page of this book kept me interested and there were so many great quotes throughout the entire book. I can't complain about anything, honestly. So let's get into the good stuff.
The Souls of Witches has two main character, Lars and Rowan. The couple couldn't be any different. Lars comes from a very wealthy family and lifestyle and has always gotten whatever he wants, no questions asked. The kind of life we all want, right? Rowan has a very simple life and love spending time with her friends, cooking, and working in her garden. Lars is a man that she probably never would have paired herself up with. They end up meeting at a ball and they instantly feel a connection and a love for each other that they have never felt before. They do realize just how different they are and this becomes quite a problem for them, before long, they know that they want to be together, but aren't sure how.
This book drew me in because of the world of fantasy, witches, and wizards. There are some romantic and sexy parts of this book, along with some very paranormal bits as well. This book takes everything that I love and adds it all together and I think this is the main reason that I loved it so much. I would recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy, but also wants to read about some characters getting hot and heavy! This is a fantastic read all around!

"As the story begins, you will immediately recognize that this writer is talented, knows how to put a story together, and pull emotions from the reader. The attention to detail is impressive, the inner dialogue balanced with narrative and exterior dialogue, and the imagery is cinematic."
"This is a world you can easily get caught up in, and Smith should be applauded for world-building skill, which is the foundation of a series like this. If you can't believe the world, nothing else matters. But Smith masters it. The Souls of Witches by Tarrant Smith is the perfect example of a must-read paranormal romance."

"Author Tarrant Smith has created a captivating mystical haven called the Pale. The place is full of mysterious characters fighting for love, struggling with hate, assault, cruelties, and a blooming romance between Lars and Rowan. The use of imagery was fascinating; I could visualize the beauty and scenes like a dream."
"This is a novel that is propelled forward by the two main characters that are deeply developed..."
