Excerpt
Santa & Mrs. Claus were both sick with the flu, and as Christmas Eve drew nearer, neither knew what to do.
Santa had never missed his deliveries
in all his years of toy making.
He felt so badly
because the children of the world
had been extra good all year,
and they really earned a very special Christmas.
So Santa sat in his
comfy recliner, thinking what to do,
when Mrs. Claus came into the room.
“Still not feeling well dear?” Mrs. Claus asked, giving him a kiss.
“Thank you dear. A kiss from you
always makes me feel better.”
“Well enough to make your deliveries?”
“I'm afraid not Mama,” Santa said. “I'm still just too weak. My energy level is so low that I would not be able to use the magic I need to complete the deliveries in just one night.”
“Surely there must be someone who can fill in, in a pinch like this,” Mrs. Claus lamented. “How about the elves?”
“The elves have never ventured forth from the North Pole for centuries. Delivering presents to children all over the world would be too much to ask of them. No, the person I need is someone who has been around the world, has the heart to take on such a task, and the time to do it on Christmas Eve.”
“That sounds like Antiquity Calais to me,” said Mrs. Claus.
