Welcome to the second novel in the Morrigan's Brood Series! The series blends together elements of ancient history, mythology, folklore, and vampires in an adventure tale spanning our past. Ever wondered why history unfolded as it has? It is because races of blood drinkers from the world over have been manipulating events from the shadows, trying to edge out the other blood-drinking races; at least that is the premise for this fictional series.
Elements of this fantastical tale include the Quest, redemption, vengeance, hatred, strong female characters, mythological beings, tarnished heroes, Romans, Irish Celts, Scots, Picts, ancient lands, historical events, and lest we not forget... vampires! (though we call them blood drinkers)
Content Notes
The series strives for a level of realism that reflects the periods within which the stories take place. Therefore, the series contains elements that some readers may find objectionable. Some of these elements include war, murder, brutality, cruelty, torture, apparent rape (it was consentual, though made to look forced to the other characters), blood drinking, depictions of non-Christian beliefs and practices, and some eroticism. The content is similar to several television series recently released on premium cable TV stations, namely HBO's True Blood and Rome, Starz' Spartacus, and Showtime's The Tudors. The publisher recommends an 18 and over rating, though we have heard from some open-minded parents who, after reading, allowed their children to read as well.
