This book is a book of theology written for the lay person as well as for the scholar.  It is a unique look at the theology of John Wesley who was the founder, with his brother Charles, of what became the Methodist Church.

John preached and wrote.  Today we have the 14 volume set of his Works, and 8 volumes each of his Letters and his Journals, and the Notes on the Old and New Testaments.  He also edited countless volumes, depending on the publisher, of others people's works from the Church Fathers to his day so that they could be published cheaply and purchased by the common man of his day.

This book studyies what John Wesley thought about others of his day and their thoughts about God.  Natural man is studied as well as Judaism, Roman Catholicism, Quakerism, Mysticism and Deism.

One is another religion, one no particular religion, one a philosophy and the others are different Christian groups.  He has a lot to say about what he perceives as their differences from "True Christianity."
