UnExpected Pleasure
Started reading Nettie's Dream because I know the author so thought a few chapters to say that I have read it. It did not take long for me to get into the story and then I couldn't put it down. Very well written, beautiful story, and very feel good ending. Be careful a few tears may flow. This book is about seniors and their lives although when reading it you do not feel that way. Would highly recommend Nettie's Dream to everyone can not wait for Barbara's next book. We have a new author in town. By Walter G.

A fun interesting read. We loved it!
Being dreamers ourselves as well as fans of the Maine coast, my husband and I were interested to read Nettie's Dream. On a just concluded road trip, we would take turns reading the well crafted chapters. The author's vivid descriptions and likable characters transport you along where you too, feel the excitement, tension, and fear as well as enjoy the sights, sounds and characters of an interesting small town. This enjoyable book had us laughing, debating plot twists, and wishing we could stop in at Sally's coffee shop and pet Bo. Barbara Cairns is as fascinating as an author as she is in person. You will have fun with the warmth, humor, and surprising plot twists. Two thumbs up! By Maria T. Binando

Nettie's Dream A Delightful Read!
"Nettie's Dream" is a touching story about an older woman surprised by a second chance at love, and ultimately finding the family she thought she'd lost forever. Well written, with terrific imagery of Maine, and I could almost feel the spray on my face, as Nettie captained her small lobster boat in her role as Lobster Bay's personal tour guide. Barbara Cairns has written a delightful novel, filled with very likable characters, and an engaging plot. As the search for Nettie's daughter, who was given up at birth, unfolds before us, the reader easily shares in the pain of loss and the desire to never give up even when the odds seem against you.
