Taegen was named as a Healer at the Feast of Ostrata by Khenlee the Healer of Alerassa over two Season Cycles ago. The gods had not told her which village she would heal since the time of her naming. She continues to be trained until one rising sun brings a stranger to their village. The woman is much smaller than anyone they are aware of and looks very different from the villagers of Alerassa or any village in Draylor. She tells of her people, the Sedledi, being forced into servitude and the abuse they have endured. It is decided that Taegen will act as an ambassador to go with the diminutive woman to bring her people back to live with the Alerassans.
Book 2 in the Ethorian Healers Series tells of Taegen who becomes a traveler and her adventures to the north of her village. The perils she faces, the people she meets, and discoveries of different ways of life and things that weren't taught in her history lessons.
