Contentment
Thinking of those things that comfort my soul,
Tangible feelings that make me feel whole...
Those first few cool breezes, as fall settles in,
The wind in the willows, a grandparent's grin...
A bloom-filled crepe myrtle, a merry-go-round,
Finding pecans amidst leaves on the ground...
The warm scent of cinnamon, a crisp, clear blue sky...
The hug from a loved one, as we say goodbye...
The scent of a baby, fresh from his bath...
The road to contentment has no shorter path.
