Emily's eyes lit up when the old gypsy held before her a ruby red pendant dangling from a thin, delicate gold neck chain. The ruby stone sparkled and shined as she turned it from one side to the other. Megan was just as excited as Emily while gleaming at the crimson gem.
"It's spectacular. I have to have it. It's meant just for me!" cried Emily as the excitement swelled up inside her. For the first time ever, she was buying something on impulse. Emily was always so practical. She always thought things through very carefully, but not this time. Somehow her emotions just took right over, making her decision in a split second, surprising them both.
