WE ENJOYED THE NEXT eighteen years with our new son. I continued my detective practice and Linda worked at the hotel on Moko. Ted Jr. had inherited many of his mother's traits. He built robots in the shop. The City of Palm Cove Island donated all of his supplies. Our son wanted to go to college to learn more about his hobby. His dream was to build robots for N.A.S.A. to send up into space. While sitting in the study, I thought about Hank Olson. It had been at least three years since we had a visit to Swan Cove. Looking around, I found my wife sleeping in the study on the couch. A thought came to mind, so I lovingly woke her up.
"Hi baby, what's up?"
"I was just thinking about taking everyone on a vacation to Swan Cove."
"That would be a great idea. Let's go in the next couple of days."
"Okay, I'll make the arrangements."
The next morning my wife and I arranged for the trip. Linda arranged for the assistant manager to run the hotel. I had my attorney take my calls while our family was at Swan Cove Island. Ted Jr. was excited about going with us. I booked a flight that evening. Victoria, Ted Jr. and the rest of my family left the Palm Cove Island that night. The flight seemed to be very quiet as they showed a movie for the kids. Linda stroked my leg as we held each other.
Three hours later, our plane landed at Swan Cove Airport. I was looking forward to seeing Hank again. In the last few years, we had grown close enough to be brothers. His family met us at the airport. He quickly drove us to the cottage next to his house so we could settle in for the evening. Victoria and Ted Jr. decided to go on an evening walk to watch the tide. Linda and I jumped in the shower and lathered up each other’s body. The water felt like the sun on a hot day.
After showering, Linda and I settled down to watch television for the evening. At least, that was the plan. Then, somehow, Victoria and Ted Jr. were standing in the door as she covered up my body from us making love in a fury in front of the television.
"Looks like both of you have been busy."
"How long have you kids been standing there?"
"Just a few minutes, why do you ask?"
"That's good, your mother and I were enjoying the pleasures of love and companionship."
"We're going to bed in the guest room it has two double beds. Good night Mom and Dad."
