Sea Jewels begins toward the end of WWII. It tells the story of a young wife,who when told her husband is missing at sea, decides that the only way she can be with him is to join her soul with his - in the bepths of the ocean.
Volumme One is told in two parts - the first being the story of Jennifer, the young wife who takes her own life and how, along with the help of Adam, her guardian angel, deals with the ramifications of her tragic act.
The second part of the book tells Ben's story. Ben is Jennifer's husband, who did not die at sea, he was lost at sea. His story begins after he has returned home after being rescued from a remote Pacific island, only to discover his wife has committed suicide. He goes into a years long drunk, from which Jennifer seems to be unable to help him recover. Once again, Jennifer and Adam must do their "magic" if Jennifer ever hopes to go on to the hereafter.

It was dark, darker than anything she’d ever known. Where was she? She felt so lost! She heard a whooshing sound all around her, as if she was in the midst of a powerful storm, yet she felt no buffeting of the wind against her body. A violent shiver shook her from head to toe.
Cold! She’d never been so cold. It felt as if the marrow of her bones had frozen solid. A sense of dread overtook her as the realization that the paralyzing chill came from within rather than from the gale that seemed to surround her.
It was then that fear took hold of her. Except for the freezing cold, she felt nothing, saw nothing…nothing but blackness.
“Where am I?” she cried, lifting her face to the heavens.
“You are with me.” A voice, as light as a sigh, yet as soothing as her mother’s touch, reached into her frantic brain.
The fear was instantly tamped down, not completely eliminated, but vastly abated.
Something in the quality of the voice spoke to her of trust, letting her know instinctively that as long as she was in the presence of this being she would be safe.
“What’s happening to me?” Her voice was little more than a whisper.
