This volume is a collection of verses written from my life experiences. I drew inspiration from a variety of events.  My optimistic decision to move to Atlanta with very little money and the hope that I would find a job led to my living homeless during the fall for three long months. I've watched good friends pass from this world before their time and lost aged loved ones whose passings cannot be reconciled. 

     I have found salvation in the quiet whisperings of the forests and inspiration among the awesome mountains of the Appalachians.  I survived Hurricane Katrina's epic destruction, madness and reconstruction.  I am moved by my New Orleans ancestors who carved out a humble existence while they endured the trials and tribulations of the young city.

     A collection of poetry would not be complete without including verses with the age old themes of love, loss and tragedy, which I believe unite us all in our fundamental existence.
