Girl's day out: The Adventure is about three best friends, who are also cousins. Because of their hard work in school, they win the most outstanding fourth grader award. Every summer they spent their vacation with their grandmothers in three different parts of the city. This summer, as a reward for their hard work, the aunties plan a special day for them. The real surprise comes at the end if their adventure.
Three girls, class mates, best friends, “A” students and cousins, are ready for summer to begin. It had been a long, hard school year but still they rose to the challenge and each received the most outstanding fourth grader award. They usually go to their respective grandmother’s house at the end of the school year but this year their aunties decide to reward them for their hard work and award winning school performance. They called it girl’s day out. A phone call was made to the parents of each girl advising them of the plans they had made. They didn’t give much detail because they knew the girls’ curiosity would be relentless and they bug everyone until they got their way. They wanted to know, they needed to know what and where this girls’ day out will take them. The suspense is overwhelming so they use all of the resources that they have to find out where they will be going. They ask their parents if they know anything, they go to the library and look in books, magazines and on maps: they use the computer and look for places near and far. The adventure as they call it turns out to be bigger, better and more usual then they could have even imaged. The lesson they learned this week is priceless

When the car exited the boat, you could see a little area near the river called The Village, it looked like a small African village with huts and rugs and artifacts placed about. There was a man sitting at the entrance, dressed like an ancient warrior, welcoming everyone with a thunderous, hearty, joyful,
Jumbo!
This is hello, in Swahili.
When they first entered the area, the aunties told them to be careful and not to touch anything. As they went into the first hut, a man told them what the different things meant. The room was filled with items that were made in Africa.
The next hut they went into had a television with benches lined along a wall. After everyone sat down, the show began. It started with a helicopter flying over the jungle. There were many different types of animals, monkeys, elephants, zebras, birds and tigers.
Right beyond the jungle there was a little village that looked just like the one they were sitting in. They were told about the children who lived in the African village and what types of games they played. The girls were surprised when they saw a group of children playing what looked like tic tag.
The girls were shown video of children dancing and were asked by the narrator to get up and dance with the children in Africa. When he said,
To the right, to the right, to the right, to the right.
The girls screamed with delight, and were surprised when the children in Africa started screaming with delight also, someone then yelled Cupid Shuffle. The narrator said,
to the left, to the left, to the left, to the left, now kick, now kick, now kick now kick and walk it by yourself, walk it by yourself, it’s the cupid shuffle, cupid shuffle.
It was as if they were all in the same place, having the same fun. They all danced the cupid shuffle for about five minutes.
