Joan M. Koss, a mother, speaker and author of her first Christian devotional, “Bowing Before God”.
Growing up, Joan M. Koss was raised in a Christian home, but somewhere along the way she became disillusioned in her faith. She went, from dreams of grandeur to devastation and heartache. She lost her foothold, and eventually found herself doubting God’s sovereignty.
But, it wasn’t until she dropped to her knees in the midst of her deepest despair and approached the throne of God, that she found a new hope, meaning, and a new purpose in life.
Her desire is to share her heart and her testimony with others in this down to earth devotional.
She experienced first-hand the deceptive tactics of Satan and will tell you that, “Yes, Satan is out to kill, steal, and destroy, but our God is mightier. God has plans for us to prosper and plans to give us hope and a future.” (For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11)
When she had lost it all and had nowhere to turn, she cried out to the heavens. Miraculously, with God, she was able to pull herself up through prayer. That’s when she discovered a life worth living.
In hindsight, she reveals that God was the wings of her life this entire time, waiting for her to call out to Him, so He could help her soar. The Bible say in 2 Corinthians 4:8, “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death works in us, but life in you. (4:8-12, NASB).
God does not necessarily change our predicament, but He does change our mindset and our heart, and He is there to walk us through it.
