The inspiring musings of a poet's soul are beautifully rendered in Sophie Boswell's collection of poetry.
Sophie Boswell's inspirations come from a five-year period in which people, place, and things touched and tranformed her life. Laid bare, are her soul's deep understanding of nature, dreams, and her life's passage thus far.
Take a journey around the globe-venture into hidden places of the mind. Sophie's rhythmic, poetic and melodic memoir is to be savored slowly, with introspective and emotional sincerity, as her words are jewels for the spirit.

The Spirit of Australia
As you lie by your camp fire, in Never-Never Land
Do you hear the desert talking, from your pillow of sand?
Transmitting eerie signals, of haunting didgeridoos
Or sounds of ancient tribesmen, stomping without shoes
The Spirit of Australia is embedded in our soul
It’s the essence of our being; the thing that makes us whole
They say that desert-dance, comes up from the ground
You feel it surge inside you, and reverberate around
This energy runs through you, sending chills up your spine
It carries with it many things that have passed the test of time
The Spirit of Australia is embedded in our soul
It’s the essence of our being; the thing that makes us whole
When you feel your energy, needs to be recharged
Or you need to take a break, for your mind to be enlarged
Head off to a place, where land meets sky
As the huge blood-red sun, bides the day goodbye
The Spirit of Australia is embedded in our soul
It’s the essence of our being; the thing that makes us whole
The desert will give back to you, from its seeming emptiness
It has a wealth of knowledge that knows no fence
And because you’re at one with it, you’ll feel it in your veins
You’ll hear undetected rivers, from long gone rains
The Spirit of Australia is embedded in our soul
It’s the essence of our being; the thing that makes us whole
The more you let your mind, see pictures of the past
You’ll come across a stage-set, with a long-gone cast
Some dancing beneath the moon, by the side of a billabong
While little piccaninnies sleep, to their loving parent’s song…
