A book written a story of humble woman in Vietnam as biography but it contains the culture, religious thoughts that has been effected the life of female person, nevertheless it is the common case of the Vietnamese women have been suffered through to thousand historic years. The Confucian philosophy mainly causes of gender discrimination, despite female contribute so much into family and society, but they have been received the bad treat by society.
A girl came from normal family at central Vietnam, but her father was terrified by Vietcong, because he joined the army force of South Vietnam. Ultimately he had to flee to Saigon with family, then rebuilt anew life with so many obstacles engaged. The life has improved, unfortunately Vietcong won the war who castigated the business, an oil tank truck to be nationalized. She grew up and married, but the misfortune pursues, her husband was a scoundrel. She had been facing the dilemma while her family hated her husband after many times who cheated. At last she had to flee from Vietnam and remarried in Australia.
