Sweat seeped into the sockets of Brody’s eyes. It was a smouldering hot day, the type of day that would be best spent indoors, perched in front of an oscillating fan. Brody clenched his fists and rubbed his eyes to rid the sweat that was beginning to sting. He continued across the yard to the mailbox, trying not to think of the explosion that he heard from his grandfather’s lab the night before.
