"In Reverse Time" is mainly a love story.
It's been since high school that Betsy Hanes and Jonathan Sutter saw each other.
They had had crushes on each other but both were too shy back then to act on them.
Both were children of alcoholics and their life had been ruled by the uncertainty and fear within their families.
Betsy is now widowed and Jonathan divorced. Separately they set out on an adventure to find out where they belong.
Along the way, Jonathan stays with his old army pal for the summer and helps him build a barn for the newest members of the Therapeutic Riding Center, miniature horses, and learns a lot about compassion from eight-year-old Shadow.
Betsy spends time with family and travels to her home in Virginia Beach, Virginia to meet up with her best friend Elly from high school.
Betsy and Jonathan are put in touch again by a chance meeting with another old friend, Terri.
Through phone calls, Jonathan and Betsy get to know each other as grown-ups and find that the feelings are still there.
The girls have a great time at the beach in the Shag Championship and Betsy leaves to visit her family in Florida. They meet on a beach in St. Petersburg Florida, and the love story begins.
