Born in the fifties only to be re-birthed into The Sixties where drugs, sex, and rock 'n roll can vanquish their childhood onslaughts, Marinda and Stacy walk the voyeur reader through their interwoven similarities of their juvenile memories in order for the onlooker to appreciate the choices they make when confronted with marijuana, LSD and alcohol. For some, what a great trip it's been, but for most it's a conundrum of consternation that fails to be resolved with alcohol, drugs or any trip, even the one to the altar.
Reconstruction is the prescription for two men betrayed by their country in an ambush in Southeast Asia, but who can get close enough to these volatile energies to assist? Dale and Riley return to North America with a new government design, and they need a little help from their friends to build enduring relationships that can go the distance; and beyond.
"It's odd that storybooks tell us about finding true love, but never mention the commitment to learning one another."
"It's easier to just head for the castle."
"The castle always needs repair."

Betrayal happens in childhood beds of security, and within government promises because all abuse begins at the nucleus, family, and reverberates outward into all areas of our conjure imaginations. What is the resolution? Certainly not New Year's an annual allocated timeframe when memories are saturated in an attempt to be forgotten.
Like the castles in storybooks all human spirits require reconstruction. It is an ongoing process, but the process requires correction through understanding. Fulfillment of the spirit is the trick seldom achieved. Marinda, Stacy, Riley and Dale will attempt to illustrate through their movements out of their caustic horrors a method to build the individual spirit through trust. Now there's the trick!

MUNCHIES AT OLD ORCHARD BEACH (circa 1971)
“So what did the sire and the bitch say when you told them you were going to Old Orchard for Spring Break?” Stacy passed the joint to Marinda and dug her hand back into her p-coat pocket.
Marinda blew out her hit. “I love it here. It’s so fuckin peaceful when it’s cold. All great places are at their best when the mindless tourists leave. They should write a new song, ‘April at the Orchard.’ April in Paris is probably just a lot of noise and confusion.”
Their construction boots squeaked on the snow at every step; faces burned rose with the bustling wind that seemed to come from all directions. Flurries danced while the sun played hide and seek with the splotches of thick gray floating sky ornaments.
Marinda took another hit and passed it back to her friend who reluctantly pulled her hand out of hiding. “Geez Rin. How can you stand it? No gloves. No hat. Just that twenty-foot scarf and that long wool coat all opened up. Christ! At least put up your hood” Stacy shivered, took a hit, exhaled, waited, drew again and passed it back to her friend. “Keep it. I’m on my ass.”
Marinda knocked off the hot end of the reefer with the tip of her pinky nail, squeezed the now cold end between her fingers, twisted it and dropped it into her pocket. “The bitch and sire live in a fantasy world. They think they give me permission when I give myself permission. They think I’m coming home to finish med school. They
are so fuckin stupid.”
“You’re moving out. Far out.”
“Of course I’m moving out. How many birds do you know who return to their cage after they’ve tasted freedom?”
“Only the ones that are looking for free food.”
