In The Heir of Ameron, Thomas fights to survive as his wizard guide’s motives become more and more suspect. Hank faces manipulation, seduction, and betrayal as he strives to restore economic prosperity to Ameron’s capital. As the forces of darkness descend on Ameron, will these two very different men realize their connection and what must be done to restore peace to the kingdom? The Heir of Ameron is a richly detailed fantasy adventure, taking readers into a world of magic, intrigue, politics, and history.
Excerpt
The frigid, Alpine wind blew the man’s gray tresses back along his cloak. The cold made his dark eyes tear, leaving liquid streaks across his numb cheeks. Caked with snow and ice, the adventurer’s beard was tinted blue and white, belying it’s stiff, gray nature. His cloak whipped out and around him, snapping angrily at the incessant gale. The breath he exhaled sent clouds of mist into the forbidding night.
The determination of this stranger was telegraphed by his stance and etched upon his aged yet timeless face. He was willing to endure whatever it took to achieve his objective, an objective only he knew. Experienced individually, the cold, the thirst, the hunger, the pain, the total exhaustion would have crippled any mortal man. This enigma was anything but a normal, mortal man.
Tattoos, brandings, and scars etched bizarre patterns into his weathered skin. To the untrained eye, the markings were merely ink applied haphazardly on some drunken whim. The trained eye would turn away in fear of being noticed. The man seemed to be shrouded in a haze. It was hard to be sure.
