In that split second, Bridget was like a person sleepwalking through a horrible nightmare. All she heard through her haze were the words “the next time.” She leapt out of bed and picked up the desk chair in the corner of the room and began hitting Buster with it over and over again until he fell to the floor. The element of surprise and the alcohol worked against him. He was powerless. She hit him so hard the chair leg broke off in her hands, revealing several large rusty nails. She used the protruding nails to beat Buster Williams in the chest until he lay there motionless.
Bridget was soaked in blood, and in shock, when Jade returned to the room.

Color Me Grey is a riveting debut novel by Michelle Janine Robinson. Robinson expertly tackled a rare but true medical occurrence of fraternal twins being born to two different fathers. But there is a lot more than meets the eye with this book. Readers will find that Bridget’s twins aren’t the main plot of this book and that there are some shocking revelations that will make your jaw drop. There are also some intriguing secondary characters that play a role in Bridget’s life that are an integral part of the story. Color Me Grey is full of non-stop drama and devastating secrets that will make you want to read future novels by Michelle Janine Robinson.

This story is more like real life situations where two women want similar outcomes in life but want to take different roads to get there. One travels the road of good, while the other one definitely travels the road of evil. What makes this book really good is that you will never be able to guess what will happen next as Bridget is forced to finally open her eyes to those around her and realize that everyone isn’t your friend. This book reminds you of the old saying 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer.' The relationship between Bridget and Jade will make you wonder if you really need friends.
