Do you enjoy contemporary county songs? This Kindle eBook is a collection of fourteen contemporary country song lyrics written over a period of several years. Walt Lamberg was the lead songwriter. His son, Alan, contributed to the lyrics and music.
All of the songs share a theme, that of “better times.” Better times are not perfect or permanent. They might last a short while. They are a change from a person’s usual life to something better, which might be just several minutes or just one evening or one afternoon that is enjoyable and/or meaningful. If a person shares the better time with a friend or loved one, their relationship can be improved.
As an example, an older man, on a weekend evening, goes to his usual bar and has his usual drinks, draft beer chased with shots of his favorite whiskey. He listens to some of his favorite country singers on the jukebox. He is alone, but this evening is a better time for him than the weekdays were. Perhaps he remembers even better times when he went out drinking with friends or spent an evening out with his wife or heard those favorite country singers in person.
Other examples are a couple who enjoys a rare evening and night together in contrast to their usual lives when they are too busy with their jobs; a man living in a rural area, who spends an evening in the “big city;” a veteran who spends his evenings with his beloved pet dog; a man and a woman who go to a club by themselves and think they have met someone special.
