Traleau tuned the man's bombast out, having been at the meeting with the employer. An up and coming captain of the guard had started a rebellion against his former lord, but lacked the men or equipment to conduct a real war, and wanted to hire them to break into the lord's keep and capture him. He hadn't taken the twisted pleasure the others did in the thought of treason or the promise of the lord's wealth; somehow the man had seemed earnest, and that made him curious to see what the lord was like. He only returned to reality when he heard something strange.
