Harold badly wants and feels as though he needs Sam as his best friend. Bobbie, Harold's wife, looks upon Sam with disdain, but grudgingly accepts Harold's continued acceptance of sam. Sam performs numerous silly and inane actions, making Harold begin to question Sams decisions, but doesn't seriously alter his opinion of Sam.
