Helps the reader to build a more intimate relationship with God.
This book is for those who are seeking a better unstanding of God and the Bible. The title comes out of the Bible, the book of Hebrews, chapter 9, verse 3.
To "enter beyond the 2nd curtain" was to enter into that holiest of places, where only God resided, where only the High Priest could go, and only one time each year!
Because of Christ's death on our behalf, the Curtain in the Jewish Temple was torn in two, "from top to bottom." (Matthew 27:51) This let us know that the way into the Holiest of places was now open.
Most believers only know about entering into the first half of the Temple, the outer court, the Holy Place, where the pople worshipped God. They don't seem to wish to know if there really is "anything else available?"
It was my good fortune to learn about this, so I sought how to enter into this special place with God, to sit with Him, to learn from Him, to enjoy His company and to enjoy this life more fully & completely.
I believe my mission now is to help others to "enter in" to that special area which is open to us, which few others seem to find. I have found it and I wish others to know about it and to also find it.
Excerpt
What is "Entering Beyond the Second Curtain?" Some say it's a "re-committment" to God. If that's what you wish to call it, that's fine. Others say that what I did was a "Re-Newing of the Holy Spirit." It's what we are to do - daily - according to the Apostle Paul. He talked about "being constantly re-filled with the Spirit of God."
Maybe I just hadn't had my tank re-filled for awhile,.. maybe that's all it is, just a "re-newing of the Holy Spirit."
Nearly every Believer has been "touched by God" for the first time,.. when we pray the sinner's prayer and ask Jesus to come into our hearts. The Invitation for Salvation could be said to "Entering into God's Temple."
So, what's Beyond the 2nd Curtain? Maybe it's "giving it all up to Jesus" also known as the Lordship of Christ. Some take Him as Savior,.. and then "live just as before."
Others come to understand that we need to GROW in Him, and what I did was just a 2nd step in that growth process. When we accept Jesus as Savior,.. we obtain salvation.
To Believe that Jesus is our Lord and Master is to become a Disciple,.. it's to Give all that I am to Jesus,.. it's to make Jesus Savior as well as Lord. It's to make Him the King of ones Life.
Jesus wants to rule in our lives, not to just sit and watch us live our lives, but to be actively involved in our moment-by-moment decision making. To be our Leader and Guide,.. to empower us,.. to take us through troubled waters.
On the History Channel a few weeks back, there was a story about a "Harbor
Master" at a major U.S. Port. Large ships come into this port many times a
day. A tug boat takes the Harbour Master out to the in-coming vessel,.. and the Harbour Master comes up into the wheel house,.. into the driver's seat of that new vessel,.. and takes over as Captain of that incoming vessel. The ship's Captain must STEP ASIDE,.. and turn over the controls to that Harbour Master, to that stranger,.. and trust that Harbor Master to take care of his vessel!
The Harbour Master is familiar with the waters in that port. He knows where the low spots are. He can NOT have "un-trained" Captains coming into HIS port, and running into other ships and closing down HIS port. So, if you wish to get safely into that port,.. if you want it done quickly and efficiently,.. if you want it done better than YOU ever could,.. you got to give it up,.. you got to surrender your vessel to the Harbour Master! He (and ONLY He) can do the job!
Is Jesus My Savior? I am sure He is! Is He also Lord and Master? If not, make Him Lord! Give Him the seat,.. give Him the controls,.. only He can guide you safely into Port. He's the ONLY one who has ever successfully lived for God. You can't do it on your own. Jesus must do it. Only He can!
