CHAPTER: EMERGENCE
Through the endless forest of happenstance, the cloned fiend quietly roamed about the grounds. Having been in existence for a few months already, he had began to learn many things, some of which were already embedded in his thoughts; he only needed to find them in his memory. The only thing on the clone’s mind was to be able to fit in.

One night as the moon rose and the caretaker had taken off to bed, the clone once again made its way towards the cabin, where the blind man’s room was located. “So, you have returned, my dear lost child.” The old man asked as it looked aimlessly straight ahead as he sat by the window.
“I have no home, I have no father, I find myself lost in the world without a cause and reason, I cry every night for the life that has been bestowed upon me by fate. I am filled with sadness that the world so far has rejected me and continue to do so. I am called a monster, when I feel like I’m just like everyone else.” The clone said as it wiped away a tear from its eye.
“I can understand your heartache my boy but trust me, you weren’t just born yesterday, and every person alive on this world starts as a small child. That includes you son. Everyone has a mother and father.” The blind man explained as he felt around the nearby dresser. He came across a small hand mirror.
“Have you ever seen yourself? Have you ever seen what you look like?” the blind man asked as he stared straight ahead.
“Never have I seen myself nor felt what I look like. I have these feelings deep inside that change throughout the day.” The clone responded as it looked through the window at the blind man.
“I too know how cruel life can be. I was born without any vision; I spent half my life feeling sad and fearful at what the world would say to me and what fate did to me. All my life I’ve needed a caretaker when the rest of the world needed no one. Why was I put on this Earth to suffer like this?” the old blind man said as he turned his face towards the clone.
“I am now a 62 year old man and I have overcome all those feelings and I’m proud of that child. Those “Feeling’s” inside you are called “Emotions”. The blind man said as he picked up the small hand mirror.
“Look into this mirror child and you will see what the rest of the world sees when they look you in the face. You will see yourself as you are but not as the real you. Only you know what the real you is like inside.” The old blind man said as he lifted up the mirror and held it to the clones face.
Upon viewing the mirror, the clones face twisted in fear. This marked the first time the clone had actually seen itself and saw what others saw. As he stared intently at the mirror, tears slowly began to emerge from his face. Staring back at him through the mirror was a grotesque face eyeing him.
