Wow! From page one, Type and Cross, the first book in The Cathedral Lake Series by author Staci Troilo pulled me in and kept me turning the pages. In this suspenseful and exciting drama, we meet the Keller family. The family, for the most part, appears to be living the classic American dream. The father is a respected emergency room physician, the wife has time to work for various charities that are close to her heart, their three children attend a prestigious private school, and they have a cook and housekeeper - that pretty much covers most of their basic wants. But when terrible tragedy hits and the family is affected, we learn there's much more under the surface, many secrets and dysfunctions that are brought to the surface. Will the family survive when the truth is known?

I loved this book. Loved. It. I'm not exactly sure what more I can say about it other than this is an absolutely fantastic book. Author Staci Troilo deftly weaves a tale that is so engaging, so exciting, so exhilarating, that you just won't want to put it down until you've read the whole thing. Type and Cross is a book that would be enjoyed by any reader who loves suspense, mysteries, or just a plain excellent work of fiction. This was the first book that I have read by author Staci Troilo, but it certainly won't be the last. As this is the first in a planned series of novels, I certainly hope that Ms. Troilo is hard at work on the next installment. I, for one, will be anxiously waiting for its release!
