I can’t believe it, how could they do this to me - and Rajput Gowda of all people? Why, all he thinks about is cars and computer games. Bloody hell, he gets on better with my brother than me and Seth is only thirteen. Well, that makes sense, Rajput acts about thirteen most of the time.
I don’t want to get married. I want to go to university. And if I did want to marry, which I don’t, not for years, it would not be to a stuck-up childish idiot like Rajput Gowda.
My parents must be crazy, well his family are rich, Dad is probably thinking about the business opportunities they can bring him. Are they living in the dark ages? Arranged marriages are so old. I won’t do it. I won’t, I won’t, I won’t. How could they agree to this; it’s that meddlesome busybody Aunty Roopa, the bloody matchmaker; I knew she was up to something when the other day, she asked me what I was planning to do next …’
