Love this book!!
This book is great! The story centers around 3 children of a slain family: Gabriel, a church knight in training, Eleenia, a healer in training, and David, a young teenager, who survives the slaughter of his family by the evil necromancers. All three siblings are very different, but they are very human and likable. You care about these characters and want them to survive, prosper, and defeat the evil. I especially like Eleenia. She is so strong, smart, and funny. The sibling interaction is great. This book really sucks you in, I didn't want to put it down. I can't wait for the second book in the Ki Kalendeen Chronicles!!

Yes! This is a must read.
This book is crazy GOOD! When I'm reading, the words effortlessly take me there....to every hallway...every feeling...every piece of action. I'm smirking and laughing one moment while gritting teeth at what's brewing on the next page. When I'm reading, I don't want to stop.....when I have to stop, I'm waiting impatiently to go back! Fear not! - the images from this story play in your mind like a movie you just saw- it's that good!! J.E. Sandoval Rocks.

Excellent, fun read!
Great book. Mr. Sandoval creates a vivid world with characters that I could really relate to. It sucks you right in and keeps you there. While there is some good closure in the book, it leaves you wanting more. Can't wait for Book 2!
