A Being from places unknown decides to feast in the small city of Eaton, OH. What it feasts on will shock you.
An unnatural entity has made its way to the quiet little town of Eaton, OH to feed. The people of the area are in danger, but they don’t know it because the entity is invisible, that is, until it begins feeding.
From the beginning to the dramatic ending, you’ll read all about this dangerously destructive force and how the people of the town fight back to claim their home.
Excerpt
Summer in Eaton, Ohio was a good place to be. A quaint little city near Hamilton and Cincinnati, filled with mom-and-pop-shops and friendly people made this a place to be on a quick trip out of town.
One of the biggest happenings every year was the Preble County Fair located at the Preble County Fairgrounds just on the edge of Eaton. People would come from all over to spend a day at the Fairgrounds, enjoying the rides, the food and the attractions.
To the east of the Fairgrounds was a tiny creek that ran north to south, and at one point it intersected 122, the road that became Franklin once it got to Eaton. The same road that the Fairgrounds sat on.
An old barn sat in a field right near the intersection between the creek and the road. Early one morning, just before the Fair was to get started for the day, a large section of the back wall exploded outward in a cloud of debris and dust. From it emerged nothing that could be seen, but it was heavy enough to press the grass down when it took a step.
Slowly and unsure of its steps, the invisible Being began walking away from the barn. The grass made nifty little imprints of the Being’s feet wherever the Being stepped.
The Being made its way down the little hill and through the small tree lining that ran alongside the creek, and then it splashed down into the water of the creek. For a moment, legs could be seen where the water had splashed up onto the Being, but only a few inches would be shown, and to nobody in particular.
Suddenly there was another burst of water and a fish seemingly levitated out of the creek by its tail. With one quick rip, the skin was removed from the fish, the body tossed aside, and a moment later the skin vanished with a gulp.
The Being began walking again up the creek, making splashes with its feet wherever it touched down. Just as it got to 122, a truck went by and caught the attention of the Being, who jumped up from the creek and landed on the road, a hefty thirty foot jump.
The Being continued to walk up the road towards the truck, which was now far enough away that the inhabitants of the truck didn’t have to worry about this creature they couldn’t see.
The Being walked up the road, following the truck. With no particular place to go, the Being continued to walk.
A mile up 122 the Being saw more traffic, as people were coming into town for the Fair. Slowly walking over into the lane, the Being was hit from behind by an Eclipse, driven by a mother who was taking her two children to the Fair. The car came to an abrupt stop when it smashed into the creature, the woman driving having no idea anything was in her way.
The front end of the car was crushed inward, totaling it. The Being turned around and scoffed at the car. It then made its way around to the woman, placed one hand firmly on her head, and pulled her out of the car through the window.
The woman screamed in horror as what seemed to be nothing had a hold of her and was pulling her out of the car, her children screaming and crying in their seats.
The Being set the woman on the road and, with both hands, jabbed its claws down onto and through the top of her head, followed by another blood curling scream from the woman.
Blood trickled down her head on all sides. The Being got a good hold on the woman’s skin, and pulled with both hands, tearing her flesh right off of her body, her clothes doing nothing to stop the happening. The woman passed out from the pain and eventually would bleed to death.
The Being did not care. It simply held the skin up into the air, opened its mouth, and dropped the skin in, feasting on it.
A car had pulled up behind the Eclipse and the driver watched as the woman’s skin dangled in the air and then disappeared. The driver of that car went around the Eclipse and sped off, calling the police from his cell phone. The police wouldn’t believe what they were hearing, but they promised to send a squad car out.
The Being continued on down the road and eventually, it would smell in the air the delightful smells of the Fair food.
Later that day the farmer who owned the barn where the Being came from would discover the skinless remains of three of his goats. Nobody would discover the fish.
