FLYING WITH GOD, Putting on a Happy Face, starts at the beginning of her childhood. Even though the book is about her life, her airline career, and many interesting stories about air travel, Bettina confides in the reader about her growing pain as she moved into adulthood. That pain caused many unhappy experiences that seemed inevitable until she was able to identify that she was a PTSD survivor of childhood abuse.
Because of that awareness, she learned that healing is an Inside Job. One must first look at all the past hurts. This will help discover the hidden demons ranging from the littlest unfairness such as bullying to the most severe trauma such as experiencing the horrors of war.
If not resolved, old wounds resurface in forms of stress, illnesses and addictions throughout life. People, aware or not aware of their PTSD, often resign to misery and helplessness.
In her second book, Sparkles offers more detailed information on healing and recovery. It is a book of solutions and resolutions to achieve freedom from the oppression of Childhood PTSD.
