She was being tortured and beaten on the ‘Altar of Judgment’ lying there helpless and defenseless. The Elder came over and leaned down to bite into Charmeine… Tabbruis tossed his head back and forth and roused himself out of sleep. He got up and ran to the Master Bath and Charmeine was gone. He looked around and saw her old clothes were on the bathroom floor with a used bath towel, but her shoes were gone. Tabbruis’ throat tightened, and he became very alarmed. Quickly Tabbruis ran out the bedroom door and down the hallway. He opened the door to the wing and went out on the main stairway entrance landing. As he started down the steps, he heard Dmitri whispering, “Charmeine is in the Grand Hall playing the piano.” Tabbruis turned his head and saw his friend and brother standing by his door to his wing of the castle. Quickly, Tabbruis began to turn and head down the stairs. Dmitri again whispered, “Charmeine will yield, my brother. I am sorry. She will not fight.” Tabbruis’ heart began to break in a million pieces. His head was spinning, and he felt like he had been hit with a two ton truck. He turned and looked at Dmitri. With intent, he whispered, “Charmeine is strong. We will be a family as God intended us to be. She will fight for our family.” Dmitri whispered, “Ah yes, your family is set as God planned it to be on the dreadful day of the battle in Heaven. However, Charmeine is a Light-Bearer; she is a light of God. This woman, Charmeine, is like the Son in the way she will sacrifice herself for those she loves. Tabbruis look into your heart, do you believe she will let any of you, her family, suffer for her?” Tabbruis hung his head and asked with despair, “Dear God, how could you do this again to my family? All this requires is love.” Tabbruis asked, “Dmitri, how can I convince her to stay?” Dmitri whispered, “If Charmeine had something to fight for and someone to fight with… she will stay. However, if you shield her and do not give her power in knowledge and strength, she will yield to the Elder Council. My advice, my good and faithful brother, is to fight for her, fight beside her, and never try to shield her. Remember what I tell you. Heed what I say now above all else Tabbruis: Love her and believe in her. Charmeine is much stronger than anyone on the Earth can ever imagine.”

Great Second Book in the Series
Excitement, excitement from the beginning of book two in this wonderful series! I absolutely loved Shane's surprise!! The excitement keeps building and building!
I loved Dmitri, loved the "family" What a lovely castle for their home. Charmeine is such a strong woman, she continues her training and the love between her and Tabburis continues to grow. The couple is learning more and more who they can trust and who they can't. Are friends really enemies? I loved the development of the extended family, each new member is such a great addition to the book and to the series. Book two in this series just left me wanting book three NOW!

Awesome continuation of the series!
Wow! I was loving these two at the end of the first book but now, I am loving them even more. In this book, Charmeine and Tabbruis are given the surprise of their lives as memories of their past love come to the surface. Some memories are good, while others reveal their ordeal may be far from over. Can they complete the dark task that has been set before them and once again be what they once where to each other? I definitely recommend this book as well as the first to anyone who loves a good deep story of love that can overcome any distance and any force imposed upon it.

WHOO WEE... UNBELIEVABLE!!! I mean "Mactus" is a wild ride!

I don't want to give out any clues to what the book is about but after reading "Charmeine," I can tell you it left the door opened wide for anything, and it did!

Our heros, Charmeine and Tabbruis start out with a huge surprise which was sitting right in front of them, and it is mind-blowing. Charmeine is attacked and it takes the help of their friends to battle the bad Blood-Hunter who is out for her blood, literally! The book twists and turns so much, you think one thing is going to happen and then it warps into something else totally. WOW! This author, Emily Guido, knows how to keep the interest and the romance even with all the intrigue! Then I about dropped my kindle when I read about the joyous event which happened when they finally made it to Romania.

To give "Mactus" five stars is shorting it, but I will give it that! If you have read "Charmeine," you have to read, "Mactus!"
