Rusty Sage returns to Buckhorn Texas and the end of the Civil War to find

his ranch and family have been wipped out by raider during the war.

With nothing left for him in Texas, and broke he heads north to Nevada and

finally ending up at the Rocking Horse Ranch in California.

Here Rusty finds a job as a Ranch Hand, Love and lots of action fighting the 

Slash Bar Ranch whose owner is trying to take over the Rocking Horse.
