As so many times before, the shadows became even stronger. They infiltrated her safe darkness with an evil, darker blackness. They covered the walls and the floor even more quickly than they ever had before. But this time, they crept along the sides of her bed and crawled along the side of her sheets.
Soon, they had covered her blanket. Christine opened her mouth to scream, but found the scream lodged in her throat. It was as if the shadows had stolen her voice. Now they wanted to steal her mind. She had no choice but to watch and listen. She could only hope that they didn't actually touch her. If they touched her, she was afraid it would be all over for her.
As the shadows crept over her covers, she felt a chill permeate her skin. It saturated her until every nerve in her body felt as though they were on fire. Terror surged through her like thousands of volts of electricity.

The Devil's Gypsies is a must read. Charlene Iverson takes the reader into a very dark and suspenseful mystery involving the main character, Christine, and her family. The story was well written and very intrigueing and kept me guessing about what might happen next. It was a real page turner and I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys supernatural mysteries.
