A collection of 100 Flash Fictions written around a single word.
Each of the 100 Flash Fictions contained in this
book has been written around a single prompt word
given in a now defunct website. The site required
all respondents to the prompt word to write a
story comprised of only 5 SENTENCES. In compiling
this anthology I had gone back to the website to
find those words I hadn't responded to previously
and in doing so I allowed myself to go beyond the
5 sentence limitation, with the longest story
having about 390 words.

A GREAT COLLECTION
Using one word prompts, the author created micro fiction pieces populated with interesting characters, situations, and emotions. The word count might be micro, but the stories had a way of expanding themselves with the author's description. Well done,
Great flash fiction for times when time is short
Author Robin Morgan writes a collection of flash fiction stories conjured up from individual `prompt' words. She has an amazing knack for making interesting and diverse stories from a wide selection of words - using one for each story.
Some stories are romantic, like the couple who, married for 50 years, have such incredible `Devotion' for each other that when their time comes they choose to die together as well. Other flash fiction involves murder, paranormal, suspense, slice of life, and covers practically all genres.
It takes a special talent to write short, short fiction like those in Micro, especially by using `prompt' words and Author Morgan certainly shows a talent for this type of story. It also takes a creative imagination to conjure up writing can find to a single `prompt' word.
These short pieces can be read in doctors' waiting rooms, riding the public transportation system or whenever a reader feels like a bit of enjoyable writing which is short and to the point. Each story makes a statement and has a beginning, middle and ending. YA's might find this type of writing helpful in learning to write tersely and to the point without wasting words.
Readers enjoying Robin Morgan's work might also enjoy her paranormal romance for YA, titled `I Kissed a Ghost.'
Thought Provoking
can't say I have ever read a book of this type before. Wow, I really need to step out of my comfort zone more because if this is any indication of what is out there, I have been missing some great work. Using one key word, Ms. Morgan would create a VERY short story centered around that key word. The reader is allowed to enjoy a separate story on each page of the book. How awesome is that?! I found it even more enjoyable to read the book in no semblance of order .. not like one would a normally read a book. Yes, you can do this with Ms. Morgan's book because like I mentioned before...every page is a different VERY short story. I made sure to enjoy every story though because it would be a shame to miss even one. This book was thought provoking and intense. Amazing how such a short stories can relay so much. Awesome job!!!
